About the Position

Qumulo is on the lookout for an operationally focused Sr Director, People Team to lead people priorities for our rapidly growing global company. The position requires someone who thrives in a dynamic rapidly changing startup environment. The individual will be contributing at both hands-on and strategic levels and will act as a partner for leadership to attract and retain the best talent, enhance our collaborative and agile culture and enable Qumulo to rapidly scale the business. The role requires you to run the people agenda, providing strategic advice and handling day to day matters, in a way that embraces our unique culture.

Reporting to the CFO, Qumulo’s Senior Director, People Team will be responsible for overseeing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's operational objectives. This role involves developing and executing HR programs that optimize workforce productivity, employee engagement, and talent management, ultimately contributing to the achievement of business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand operational objectives and develop HR strategies that support the company's short-term and long-term goals.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent, ensure workforce stability, and minimize turnover.
  • Lead workforce planning efforts by analyzing current and future staffing needs, skill gaps, and organizational structure to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Design and oversee performance management systems that align employee goals with company objectives and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Foster a culture of employee engagement through initiatives such as surveys, feedback mechanisms, and recognition programs, ensuring high levels of job satisfaction and commitment.
  • Oversee the development and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent while managing costs effectively.
  • Leverage HR data and analytics to provide insights into workforce trends, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with relevant labor laws and regulations, providing guidance to management and employees as needed.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, investigations, and resolution processes in a fair and consistent manner.

Minimum Role Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Requires 8-10 years of leadership experience, with a focus on HR operations and strategy.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving operational improvements through HR initiatives.
  • Experience with HR operations that include international employees
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate HR initiatives into business outcomes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP or SPHR) is a plus.

The annual pay range for the role is USD $251,000 - $361,000. This role has the opportunity to earn a leadership bonus incentive depending on the terms of the applicable plan.

Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
