About the Role
As a Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in building internal tools around RevDB, Clari’s highly complex internal data platform. RevDB handles automated schema evolution, ETL transformations, and data normalization at scale. A deep understanding of this platform—as a product—is essential to designing tools that expose and support its operations. These tools play a critical role in supporting internal stakeholders and enabling customer-facing administrative features.
You will gain deep knowledge of the complex ETL and data load processes that power RevDB. Developing a systematic understanding of how data flows, transforms, and is governed across the platform will be essential to your success. This understanding will allow you to create smarter tools and efficient workflows — a critical competency for long-term growth in this role.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll apply your Java expertise and cloud-native or SaaS experience to design, build, and maintain backend services that power Clari’s high-scale revenue platform. You’ll architect reliable, highly available systems, streamline complex data workflows, and contribute to both internal tools and customer-facing features.
This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Kraków, Poland office as needed. Candidates must be based in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of scalable backend services using Java
- Implement features and enhancements within multi-tenant SaaS solutions that comply with enterprise security and reliability standards
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and service-to-service integrations under guidance from senior engineers
- Work with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), ensuring data integrity and performance
- Assist in improving observability—metrics, logging, and distributed tracing—to maintain system health and reliability
- Collaborate with product, DevOps, and data teams to deliver new features and infrastructure improvements
- Participate in code reviews, follow best practices, and contribute to maintaining code quality and technical standards
- Help troubleshoot and resolve performance or production issues with support from senior team members
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional experience in backend software development
- Proficiency in Java and solid understanding of object-oriented design principles
- Experience contributing to scalable SaaS or cloud-based systems
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Familiarity with NoSQL systems (e.g., MongoDB)
- Experience participating in projects through multiple phases — from design to deployment
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Exposure to data-intensive SaaS applications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or other major providers is a plus
- Basic familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and microservices architectures (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus
- Experience with internal developer platforms or tools is a plus
- Some exposure to building or maintaining ETL workflows is a plus
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Typescript is a plus
- Interest or experience in architectural design or system-level optimization is a plus
