About the role

You'll join Clarify as a Design Engineer—a rare hybrid role where visual craft meets technical execution. You'll work directly with our founders to create product experiences that feel effortless, building the interface layer that makes AI-powered CRM feel intuitive and delightful. Think Vercel-level polish: every interaction considered, every animation purposeful, every detail refined. You'll own the end-to-end experience from design concept to production code, shaping how thousands of sales teams interact with their customer data.

What you’ll do

  • Design and build exceptional user interfaces that balance beauty with performance—components that look great and feel fast.

  • Establish and evolve Clarify's design system, building reusable components that maintain consistency while enabling rapid iteration.

  • Craft micro-interactions, transitions, and animations that add delight without sacrificing speed or accessibility.

  • Partner with founders on product strategy, using design as a tool to explore and validate new directions before engineering investment.

  • Build and refine core product surfaces: dashboards, data tables, forms, command palettes, and AI-powered workflows.

  • Prototype rapidly to test ideas, then polish relentlessly once direction is validated.

  • Set the bar for craft and attention to detail across the entire product.

Your background

  • 5+ years shipping production-quality interfaces with strong design and engineering skills.

  • Expert-level proficiency in modern web technologies: React, TypeScript, Next.js, and CSS/Tailwind. You write clean, performant code.

  • Deep understanding of design fundamentals: typography, spacing, color theory, hierarchy, and interaction patterns.

  • Portfolio demonstrating exceptional UI/UX work—we want to see projects where you owned both design and implementation.

  • Experience building complex, data-rich interfaces that remain performant and elegant.

  • Comfortable with animations and transitions using Framer Motion, or similar libraries.

  • Strong opinions on design tooling, component architecture, and how to balance velocity with quality.

  • Pragmatic approach to design—you know when to sweat the details and when good-enough ships faster.

  • Experience working closely with product and engineering, translating ambiguous problems into concrete solutions.

  • Startup experience preferred—you thrive in fast-moving environments where you own outcomes, not just tasks.

  • Bonus: Experience with AI/ML product interfaces, data visualization, or CRM/sales tools.

  • Bonus: Open source contributions or side projects that showcase your craft.
