About this Role

We are actively seeking seasoned, senior trendsetters as Staff Software Engineer to lead and provide technical direction for Security Products. As part of our Security Engineering team, you will be responsible for architecture, end-to-end system design from inception through product delivery and lifecycle of multiple security products focused around Detection, Prevention, Remediation and Cyber Recovery from any security threats. This can include research, development and delivery of Security features focused on Ransomware, Malware, IAM, KMS, Vaulting, DSPM, CSPM, SIEM/SOAR and many more.

Day-to-day role involves developing security and cyber resiliency software delivered as a service in public/private/hybrid cloud environments. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and delivering software which will require knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes, caching, databases, message brokers, IAM, KMS, ETL, data/stream processing pipelines, CI/CD tools and cloud services like AWS, Azure, and GCP.

You will work in lock step with cross-BU platform, cloud SaaS engineering and infrastructure teams, enabling and delivering security products in the ecosystem with monthly release cycles.

You will also be working closely with the PM and UX teams to refine requirements and incorporate customer feedback. Communicating with cross functional stakeholders will be a regular part of the job. We’re looking for a technical lead who is motivated by technology and enjoys problem-solving, mentoring and collaborating with engineers across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement microservices for highly available and scalable SaaS features for various security products.
  • Build and own frameworks for controlled releases and AB testing.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot performance and availability issues pertaining to databases like Postgres, Elasticsearch and Mongodb and streaming data pipelines like Spark/Flink.
  • Perform exploratory analysis and POCs to identify performance and cost optimizations.
  • Monitor, optimize, and report on performance and cost trends.
  • Work with development teams to optimize data models and build optimizations to improve performance.
  • Work with operations to improve uptime ,availability and performance.
  • Act as a technical lead to develop Cloud Security Products in distributed public/private cloud environments. This includes Anti-Ransomware solutions, AI/ML based attack vector analysis with solution & product design to address customer needs to ensure Data Security, Data Sovereignty.
  • Design and implement Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring use cases.
  • Lead retrospectives and drive implementation of best practices
  • Coordinate features and deliverables across multiple engineering and Product management teams to achieve project goals.
  • Collaborate with cloud operations to establish KPI for different services and own end to end delivery and lifecycle management.
  • Lead initiatives and projects. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members.

Skills Required

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related experience.
  • 10+ years of proven work experience in SaaS development.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security.
  • Experience in kubernetes-based microservices development.
  • Experience working with cloud service providers such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Strong coding experience in any of these languages - Golang, Python
  • Experience in OLTP workloads - Postgres
  • Experience in NoSQL engines - MongoDB, ElasticSearch

Experience with Message brokers such as Kafka and Stream processing frameworks such as Spark/Flink.

  • Experience with communication protocols such as REST and GRPC.
  • Experience with Machine Learning models.
  • An interest and desire to stay abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and controls.
  • Must be self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented as well as have the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active team player with excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and good work ethic. Ability to technically lead a team of 8-10 engineers.
  • Comes up with creative solutions to challenging problems

Skills Desired (Bonus)

  • Experience working at a high-growth startup is a bonus
  • Experience Cloud Data Warehouses - Snowflake
  • Experience with Generative AI
  • Experience in implementing Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Data Security Posture management (DSPM) and Cloud Workload Protection Platforms (CWPP) is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (SOC, ISO, PCI, DSS, HIPAA, etc.)

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
US Pay Range
$192,000$240,000 USD
