As an Application & Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the programming, maintenance, and installation of security systems. This role requires hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting access control, CCTV, and visitor management systems, as well as familiarity with server maintenance, restarting services, and working with Microsoft SQL. Additionally, you will assist with the installation and servicing of CCTV and access control equipment. Occasional travel to other office locations will be required for system installation and servicing.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

  • Programming & Maintenance – Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security systems such as Genetec, Avigilon, and Avigilon Alta.
  • Server Management – Work on servers, perform service restarts, and troubleshoot security software-related issues.
  • Database Management – Utilize Microsoft SQL for basic troubleshooting and query execution to support security applications.
  • Installation & Deployment – Assist in the physical installation and setup of CCTV and access control equipment.
  • Testing & Commissioning – Ensure proper operation of security systems post-installation and conduct system validations.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain records of installations, configurations, troubleshooting, and system updates.
  • Training & Support – Provide technical support to internal users and train Security staff on system operation.
  • Travel – Occasionally travel to other Cohesity office locations for system installation and servicing.

WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Experience with Genetec, Avigilon, Avigilon Alta, Envoy or similar security systems.
  • Experience marking floorplans for security devices & ability to understand drawings provided.
  • Experience with Sharepoint & the upkeep/updating of files/folders for data retention.
  • Good understanding of server maintenance, including restarting services and troubleshooting issues.
  • Some experience with Microsoft SQL (or willingness to learn).
  • Familiarity with CCTV and access control system installation (or willingness to learn).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, system diagrams, and configuration settings.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site installations and service work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in security system installation and maintenance.
  • Experience as an embedded systems engineer.
  • Certifications in Genetec, Avigilon, or other security platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with networking and IT infrastructure for IP based security devices.
  • Experience in a customer-facing or support role.
