The Cohesity Advanced Services team is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Resident Engineer (Lead Principal Consultant) to work exclusively with one of our most strategic, high-profile enterprise customers. This is more than a traditional technical engagement—it’s a high-visibility platform to demonstrate your expertise, leadership, and ability to deliver cutting-edge data protection and security solutions.


As the trusted technical advisor and face of Cohesity onsite, you will play a critical role in enabling successful deployments, solving complex challenges. HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

  • Own the technical relationship between the customer and Cohesity internal teams.

  • Design and operate resilient data protection and data security architectures using Cohesity products.

  • Oversee software upgrade planning, operational reporting, and ongoing performance tuning.

  • Participate in customer escalations related to backup recovery, SmartFiles, or other critical services.

  • Support renewal cycles with technical validation and implementation health reporting.

​Design & Implementation

  • Architect, implement, and document advanced data protection and secondary storage solutions tailored to customer environments.

  • Develop automation scripts and validate deployment workflows.

  • Deliver professional services including system installation, configuration, integration, and post-deployment support.

  • Create pre-installation and planning documentation, post-deployment runbooks, and knowledge base articles.

  • Perform beta testing and provide feedback to product engineering teams.

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Act as the on-site technical lead and escalation point during solution deployment and ongoing operations.

  • Maintain strong, trusted technical relationships with customer stakeholders and Cohesity internal teams (Engineering, Support, Sales, and Marketing).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex implementation or operational issues, ensuring business continuity and customer satisfaction.

  • Proactively identify optimization opportunities and influence product enhancements.

Enablement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Convert best practices into field-consumable content including documentation, training modules, and certification material.

  • Provide hands-on, small-group training and mentorship to customer and partner engineers.

  • Facilitate internal and customer-facing TOIs and product enablement sessions.

WE'D LOVE TO TALK IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred) and 8+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent hands-on industry expertise.

  • Proven experience deploying and maintaining Cohesity solutions in enterprise environments.

  • Storage & Hardware: SSD/NVME/M.2, HDD, BIOS-level imaging

  • Networking: 10/25/40/100 GbE, TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, firewall basics

  • Scripting: Python, Shell, REST APIs, Java, C/C++

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

Pay Range :

$128,900.00-$161,100.00
