We are seeking a Technical Writer with strong skills in information development, content design, and editorial work. As a member of our Content Experience team, you will be responsible for setting up, configuring, validating, and developing content for our industry-leading AI-powered data security and management solutions. These solutions are driving the adoption and growth of our revolutionary Software-defined and SaaS offerings. Your expertise will be vital in accelerating and expanding our rapidly growing business.

How You’ll Spend Your Time Here

• Create and continually improve world-class product documentation for software, hardware, and developer tools.
• Deliver an exceptional Out of the Box Experience (OOBE) for customers through UX content design, product tours, in-app help, and documentation, using precise and effective language.
• Act as the “first customer” for Cohesity products and features to ensure that your technical content provides the best user experience by being hands-on during documentation.
• Develop both intent-based and topic-based technical content.
• Write user-friendly technical content that explains complex information clearly, concisely, and without jargon.
• Plan, author, and test technical content for end users, working closely with other writing team members to maintain consistency in detail, style, and presentation.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of production, publication, and maintenance of technical information.
• Respond to documentation feedback from both internal and external customers to deliver complete, accurate, and usable content.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in English, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in technical writing, specifically developing software and hardware documentation for global audiences.
• Exceptional Writer: Proven experience in both business-to-business and consumer content, with a portfolio that demonstrates clean, compelling, and conversational writing.
• Top-Notch Editor: Attention to style rules and detail, with a keen eye for spotting and correcting errors.
• Customer Empathy: Ability to research and develop customer-focused content, with a deep understanding of audience needs and interests
• Visual Thinker: Ability to present and explain complex content visually through schematics, block diagrams, animations, and gifs as appropriate.
• Always a Student: Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and sourcing reputable information for instructional content.
• Autonomy: Works independently with minimal supervision, quickly developing independence in new tasks and exercising good judgment.
• Versatility: Adapts quickly to changing requirements, communicates impacts, negotiates next steps, and supports change to achieve team and organizational goals.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making

In-Office Expectations

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
