The Cash Applications team at Cohesity is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate application of customer payments across all global entities. Leveraging NetSuite as our core ERP, the team partners closely with Billing, Collections, and Sales teams to maintain clean accounts receivable, accelerate cash flow, and support a seamless customer experience.

As an Accountant I – Cash Applications at Cohesity, you will be responsible for applying and reconciling customer payments, resolving cash application exceptions, supporting collections, and ensuring accurate accounts receivable reporting in NetSuite.

We are a collaborative and detail-driven Cash Applications team, passionate about accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement. Working in a fast-paced, global environment, we partner closely with Billing, Collections, and Finance to resolve challenges, streamline processes, and ensure a seamless cash flow experience. We are looking for professionals who take pride in getting things right, embrace accountability, and are excited to support Cohesity’s growth through operational excellence.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

  • Review daily bank reports to identify customer payments and apply them to respective customer accounts in NetSuite

  • Reconcile daily bank deposits with cash posted on NetSuite and investigate discrepancies

  • Apply customer payments to invoices as per remittance instructions or post to unapplied cash when instructions are unavailable and collaborate with Collections Analysts to resolve complex payment disputes

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve payment exceptions, and unauthorized deductions

  • Work closely with banking partners for resolution of receipt discrepancies

  • Perform approved account adjustments (credit memos, bad debt write‑offs, and other approved corrections), reporting, and month/quarter-end close activities

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and support internal, external, and SOX audits

WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience in Cash Applications or Accounts Receivable operations

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar large ERP systems

  • Advanced MS Excel expertise in complex reporting and dashboards

  • Available to work in US time zone hours during month-end close

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support high-quality decision-making.
