We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in Germany with focus on Strategic Accounts —a highly experienced technical leader who combines deep expertise, strategic thinking, and executive influence to shape customer success and drive the most complex and high-impact opportunities across the region.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

As a Principal Sales Engineer, you will operate as a strategic technical authority and trusted advisor across customers, partners, and internal teams. You will lead the most critical engagements, influence long-term customer strategy, and drive technical excellence across the organization.

You will:

  • Lead and shape strategic, high-value customer engagements, driving technical wins across the most complex enterprise opportunities
  • Act as a primary technical advisor to executive stakeholders, influencing both IT and business strategy
  • Drive account and territory-level technology strategy, positioning Cohesity as a long-term platform for data security and management
  • Own and lead complex solution architectures across hybrid, multi-cloud, and enterprise environments
  • Design and execute advanced proof of concepts (PoCs) that demonstrate both technical differentiation and measurable business value
  • Proactively identify customer challenges and opportunities, including those not explicitly stated, and translate them into strategic initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver optimal outcomes
  • Ensure technical risks are identified early and mitigated effectively across key deals and programs

WE'D LOVE TO TALK IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

You are a senior technical leader with the ability to operate at both deep technical and executive levels, driving outcomes across customers and the organization.

  • Extensive experience in Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales Solutions Architecture, or Technical Pre-Sales leadership roles
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex, multi-stakeholder engagements in complex environments
  • Strong track record of influencing customer strategy and executive decision-making
  • Deep understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, including data protection, cloud, and security
  • Ability to connect technical solutions to business value and measurable customer outcomes

Technical expertise

  • Deep expertise in data protection, cyber resilience, and modern data platforms
  • Strong architectural knowledge across:
    • Hybrid and multi-cloud environments
    • Enterprise infrastructure and applications
  • Experience shaping end-to-end solution architectures for large-scale environments
  • Contributions to:
    • Technical thought leadership (white papers, blogs, internal frameworks)
    • Advanced demos and reusable solution assets
  • Industry certifications (cloud, data, or security technologies) strongly preferred

Your leadership & influence

At the Principal level, you are a recognized technical leader and multiplier of impact across the organization.

You will:

  • Be sought out as a technical expert across the region (Area/Geo level and beyond)
  • Lead and contribute to Sales Engineering strategy, initiatives, and transformation programs
  • Mentor and develop senior and junior Sales Engineers, elevating overall team capability
  • Represent Cohesity at industry events, executive briefings, and customer engagements
  • Create and drive adoption of best practices, methodologies, and reusable frameworks
  • Influence product strategy and roadmap through direct customer insight and field feedback

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in pre-sales, architecture, or technical leadership roles
