POSITION IS REMOTE OR IN-OFFICE

Expedition Expectations

As a key member of the NORAM Leisure Air Desk, the Manager will be responsible for working with and managing a Canadian team of air ticketing agents dedicated to supporting leisure travel advisors and independents, with the goal of growing leisure air sales and solving complex airline issues. Direct will work with Direct’s Corporate Air Team to maximize revenue and override opportunities.

This role will work closely with the Leisure Sales team, US air desk and will report to Sonya Hemmings, Senior Director of Leisure Operations.

Passport to Success

  • Provide best in class air ticketing service and support program
  • General ticketing, including exchanges and refunds with a major focus on escalations to ensure:
    • Revenue maximization
    • Debit memo avoidance
  • Research and assistance to reduce DMs
  • Advisor/client customer service satisfaction
  • Support ongoing development and use of Direct Lift (proprietary online booking tool for advisors)
  • Work with DSD desk for directional sales opportunities
  • Continue to review and improve new content – Hotel, Car, NDC
  • Provide training for Canadian advisors working with this tool as required

Going the Extra Mile

  • Qualified candidates must be proficient in both US and Canadian air ticketing and have expert knowledge in Sabre and Apollo GDS platforms. Candidates with experience managing teams will be rated higher.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in airline ticketing. Must have extensive knowledge of Sabre and Apollo experience as well.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US or Canada and have unrestricted work authorization for US or Canada.
