Greenhouse is looking for a Director, Public Relations to join our team!

This Director will help Greenhouse achieve its business objectives by providing strategic storytelling that brings the Greenhouse perspective and supports the needs of the business. While reporting to the VP, Brand & Corporate Marketing, this role will work directly with all members of Greenhouse Executive Leadership. The Director will be responsible for creating a bold and impactful communications and PR strategy to effectively enhance Greenhouse’s reputation as an innovative industry leader. This involves engaging diverse audiences, including media, analysts, and influencers, through strategic messaging, executive communications, media relations, and industry thought leadership.

Key focus areas in this role include ensuring an effective, timely, and opportunistic media strategy and execution to increase Greenhouse share of voice, as well as maintaining and building existing analyst relationships and building influence with analysts and industry influencers. The Director will lead and scale best-in-class external company communications, manage the Communications & PR team, and oversee the PR agency relationship. You will also support writing, project management, and coordination on activities such as message articulation, blog posts, and industry award submissions.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute a bold, data-driven communications and PR strategy that:
    • Builds the Greenhouse brand
    • Enhances our reputation as an innovative industry leader
    • Is aligned with marketing and company goals
    • Effectively translate insights and ideas into compelling stories
    • Effectively supports events & awards
  • Lead the planning and execution of a strategic media and analyst relations program, increasing Greenhouse's share of voice with key audiences
  • Drive the analyst relations strategy and build influence with key analysts and industry influencers
  • Ensure high-quality execution of PR initiatives, including supporting writing, project management, leadership of the Communications & PR team, and management of external agency partners


You should have

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in public relations and media relations, with at least 3 years in a role leading PR for a B2B SaaS or Tech company
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Deep expertise in strategic, data-driven storytelling that can change perception, crafting compelling narratives and content for diverse audiences and channels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, productive relationships with external agencies and key internal/external stakeholders
  • Strong relationship builder with a proven ability to cultivate collaborative partnerships across internal teams, executive leadership, and external stakeholders/agencies
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and focused on high-quality execution, with demonstrated ability to translate insights and ideas into impactful stories
  • Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies and plans that achieve business objectives
  • Experience defining, tracking, and reporting on communication metrics to demonstrate impact
  • Highly adaptable and a proactive problem-solver, comfortable navigating ambiguity and applying critical thinking to develop creative solutions in a dynamic environment
  • Experience within the HR/HCM Technology sector and/or corporate communications experience, is a plus

The national pay range for this role is $169,000 - $220,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including stock option awards, bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.

Greenhouse provides a variety of benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, mental health resources, financial wellness benefits, and a fully paid parental leave program. For US-based employees, we offer short-term and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan and company match. U.S. based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 13 scheduled paid holidays and up to 80 hours of paid sick leave. Non-exempt employees accrue up to 20-25 days of paid vacation time, depending on tenure, and exempt employees have unlimited paid time off (PTO).
