At Nautilus, we have a big and important mission: improve the health of millions by unleashing the potential of the proteome to accelerate drug development and enable a new world of precision and personalized medicine. We are developing a single-molecule protein analysis platform of unprecedented sensitivity, scale, and ease of use that we believe will democratize access to the proteome – one of the most dynamic and valuable sources of biological insight. To accomplish this, we are pursuing hard scientific problems with an entrepreneurial mindset and creating a world-class team of builders, innovators, and dreamers across a wide range of disciplines.

We are hiring for a Senior Product Manager, Consumables and Applications to join our growing team. In this role, you will define and drive the strategy and prioritization for assays, panels, and application content, including selection of targets, use cases, and expansion pathways aligned to customer demand and business objectives from concept through commercialization. You will drive cross-functional execution from requirements through launch, partnering closely with Business and Scientific leadership to translate scientific innovation into scalable, customer-ready offerings.

This position will report to the Head of Product Management.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end consumables portfolio strategy and multi-year roadmap, translating company and platform objectives into clear product plans and priorities informed by customer, market, and competitive insights.

  • Define product architectures and content expansion models (e.g., kits, panels, workflows, and application packages) that ensure platform capabilities deliver on customer needs and drive commercial growth.

  • Partner with Proteomics Analysis Services as part of the overall service offering—setting a big-picture vision for how customers implement and use the platform, and ensuring application development and core workflows are scalable and well-supported.

  • Own the voice-of-customer feedback loop for Platform Content and Applications: deeply understand what customers are doing with the product (successes, friction points, unmet needs), build and share compelling customer stories internally and externally (in partnership with Marketing), and translate insights into strategic recommendations.

  • Conduct and synthesize primary and secondary market research to inform product positioning and differentiation.

  • Define and prioritize consumables requirements (e.g., specifications, performance claims, packaging, labeling) in collaboration with R&D and Manufacturing based on customer and business needs.

  • Lead consumables launch planning and execution, including positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market coordination (collateral, documentation, and training content) in partnership with Marketing and Sales.

  • Own pricing strategy (including product configuration) to balance customer needs, business needs, and operational simplicity.

  • Own portfolio KPIs such as revenue targets and adoption rates.

  • Continuously assess market signals to guide roadmap adjustments and portfolio optimization using structured analytical frameworks.

Requirements

  • BS/BA with 8+ years' relevant experience or an advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.) with 5+ years' relevant experience in life sciences.

  • 5+ years product management experience in life sciences, and demonstrated experience commercializing novel or platform-based technologies preferably with a consumables focus (e.g., reagents, assay kits, sample prep)

  • Strong technical understanding of life sciences products and workflows, with the ability to engage credibly with R&D teams and external customers

  • Technical knowledge of proteomics and/or assay/reagent development is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical, market, and customer insights into clear portfolio strategy, positioning, and roadmap recommendations

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Platform Content and Applications and customer support/service teams to define big-picture strategy, translate it into requirements, prioritize enhancements, and drive adoption.

  • Strong analytical skills, including market sizing, competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and business case development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive; able to build strong cross-functional relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment to deliver timely results.

  • Ability to drive operational excellence and consistently deliver timely results independently

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
