The Role

As a Staff Technical Recruiter at Observe, you will play a critical role in attracting, assessing, and hiring top-tier talent for technical roles across the organization. Reporting to engineering leadership from our San Mateo HQ, you will partner closely with engineering, product, finance, and leadership teams to drive full-cycle recruiting strategies and ensure an outstanding candidate experience.

This is an opportunity to shape Observe’s talent function from the ground up as we look to rapidly build our teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the full recruiting lifecycle for technical roles, including engineering, product, and other technical departments.

  • Own day-to-day ATS administration, partnering closely with Hiring Managers, Finance and HR Ops.

  • Develop, refine, and advise on internal and external sourcing strategies and hiring analytics & KPIs.

  • Represent Observe with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring all candidates have a positive impression regardless of outcome.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of technical recruiting experience across engineering, product, or other technical roles, preferably in a related industry.

  • Deep understanding of technical roles and terminology, allowing you to screen for required skills and cultural fit effectively.

  • Proven track record of creative sourcing, assessment, and closing techniques, including negotiation of complex offers.

  • Experience partnering with executives, senior leadership, and hiring managers in a high-growth tech company.

  • Excellent communication skills—able to tell the Observe story and build trust with candidates at all stages.

Bonus Points

  • Experience recruiting for observability, log management, or data platform vendors.

  • Exposure to scaling recruiting infrastructure or employer branding initiatives in startup environments.

  • Familiarity with recruiting analytics, ATS systems, and building end-to-end talent processes.

  • Desire and capability to expand the role beyond technical roles to hiring for all functions.
