We are actively in search of a Software Engineering Manager to lead one of our core teams. This team will be accountable for the end-to-end management of data platforms, encompassing critical areas such as authentication and authorization (AuthN/AuthZ), data ingestion pipelines, APIs that drive the user experience, and the underlying scalable infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the multitude of our customers dependent on the work performed and the revenue generated by this amazing group of individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scale, manage, mentor and retain an amazing group of engineers in the development and delivery of our product
  • Lead the software development process by providing architectural direction and system/service design guidance
  • Enhance technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity
  • Ensure software service milestones are met, and delivered on time ensuring the highest quality
  • Work closely with product management team to define product requirements ensuring smooth implementation and delivery
  • Collaborate with other teams including security, infrastructure, and quality assurance so that our product meets company standards for security, reliability and performance
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in management or leadership role
  • Strong understanding of full-stack software development methodologies which include continued contributions in coding and technical details with 50-60% hands-on involvement
  • Experience in React.js, TypeScript, Couchbase DB, Postgres, Redis, Python, GoLang, and GCP a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of software engineers and drive results in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Experience in cybersecurity, including threat analysis, vulnerability management, and risk assessment
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and trade-offs based on rigorous thinking
  • Work well in a cross-functional environment and navigate ambiguity with ease
  • A strong customer focus, committed to establishing empathy with other engineering teams and understanding their needs

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD [$140,000.00] to [$200,000.00] per year. PlexTrac utilizes different base pay ranges for different work localities, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently based on their home market. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the specific applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s work location. In addition to a candidate’s work location, an individual’s base pay will also depend on a number of factors, such as complexity and responsibility of the posted role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

At PlexTrac, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and equity options. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
