About the Position:

Qumulo Cloud Solutions Architect is a Technical expert who designs, develops, and deploys cloud-based solutions that align with the organization's business goals and technical requirements. They collaborate with various stakeholders, including development teams, operations teams, and management, to create architectures that leverage the capabilities of cloud platforms for optimal performance and efficiency. The role involves a deep understanding of cloud technologies, infrastructure, application development, application deployment, security, and cloud best practices. Responsible for enabling and empowering AWS, Azure, & GCP solutions architect teams. This role focuses on driving and delivering against Qumulo's cloud revenue targets. This role will be remote, based in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into cloud architecture designs. Design scalable, reliable, and highly available cloud solutions that meet performance and security requirements. Select appropriate cloud services and components to build cost-effective and eficient solutions. Ensure architecture supports horizontal scalability and fault tolerance.
  • Lead the implementation of cloud solutions, including provisioning resources, configuring services, and setting up networking. Provide guidance to development teams for designing cloud-native applications. Migrate on-premises applications and workloads to the cloud while minimizing downtime and disruption.
  • Implement security best practices to protect data, applications, and infrastructure in the cloud. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations relevant to the organization's domain.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of cloud applications and infrastructure. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization
  • Optimize cloud spending by selecting the right pricing models and instance types. Monitor usage and implement cost control measures to avoid unnecessary expenses.
  • Create comprehensive documentation of architecture designs, configurations, and best practices. Provide clear technical documentation for team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of cloud solutions with overall business goals. Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior team members
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies. Evaluate and recommend new tools, services, and approaches to enhance cloud solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and aligning solutions to address them. Collaborate with account managers and customer success teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with cloud partners, resellers, and ISV/alliances to deliver technical enablement.

Competencies:

  • Collect and deliver customer signals and field feedback to cloud leadership to establish strategic plans and objectives. Partner with leadership as a trusted advisor on areas of improvement around administrative or operational matters.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of cloud storage technologies, architectures, and migration strategies, with the ability to effectively communicate value propositions and solutions to customers and partners
  • Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
  • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience in cloud selling as well as experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

  • Professional certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).

  • Strong experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions.

  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and related services.

  • In-depth understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.

  • Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks in cloud environments.

  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to lead teams through technical challenges.
