Senior Software Engineer (Frontend)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in building and designing modern frontend UI using Javascript frameworks,as part of the founding team in an exciting new startup within the secure software supply chain space. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of complex, beautiful, and responsive UIs while ensuring their security and efficiency.

You will work closely with the CTO, product owners, and stakeholders to identify requirements, design systems, and develop and deliver quality code. You will perform the role of tech lead, mentoring and leading other junior engineers through code review and the setting best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement beautiful, responsive, and secure UIs using modern Javascript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Lead the architecture and design of the frontend UIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and develop solutions that meet product needs
• Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and engineering teams to identify and deliver high-quality code that meets the needs of the business and customers
• Mentor and lead junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and set best practices
• Identify and resolve frontend UI bottlenecks, performance issues, and scalability challenges
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve the quality and performance of our frontend stack.
• Experience contributing to opensource projects and communities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing best practices and setting standards for code quality, security, and scalability.
• Ability to write thoughtful content to illustrate the individuals expertise and if comfortable, speak at tech events to showcase leadership in our domain of expertise.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in designing and building modern frontend UIs using Javascript frameworks
• Expertise in frontend architecture, design patterns, and modern Javascript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Strong knowledge of frontend auth integration with scalable, highly available backend using protocols such as OAuth2, or JWT.
• Expertise in test frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Storybook.
• Expertise in build tooling such as webpack, parcel, gulp etc.
• Experience with PaaS providers such as Heroku, Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages
• Experience with cloud provider environments such as AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Google App Engine, AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Functions, AWS S3.
• Proficient in secure code / web application security (OWASP top ten).
• Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers through example.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
• Ability to write thoughtful content to illustrate the individuals expertise and if comfortable, speak at tech events to showcase our leadership in our domain of expertise.
