Staff Front-end Engineer

About Front-end Team

Temporal is revolutionizing how organizations manage distributed systems at scale through our innovative platform. Our UI team crafts intuitive interfaces that make complex distributed systems manageable and accessible through both our open-source offering and Temporal Cloud. The Role

We're seeking talented Front-end Engineers to join our UI team and help shape the future of our product. You'll work on both our enterprise SaaS platform and open-source initiatives, creating sophisticated interfaces that handle complex, real-time data visualization and interaction.

What You'll Do

Design and implement high-performance, interactive UIs using our tech stack of Svelte, TypeScript, and Tailwind
Build and maintain critical components for the Temporal Cloud control plane, marketing websites, internal tools, and developer products
Create intuitive data visualization solutions that help users quickly understand and navigate complex distributed systems
Collaborate with our six-person frontend team to drive both revenue-generating projects and crucial ongoing initiatives
Contribute to the development of extensible, customizable interfaces that can adapt to specific application requirements
Work on both enterprise-grade SaaS products and open-source projects

Technical Challenges You'll Tackle

Building lightning-fast UIs that can handle and present large volumes of interactive data Implementing sophisticated data visualization and exploration tools that allow users to quickly drill down into system specifics
Creating seamlessly extensible client-side experiences that can be customized for various use cases
Balancing performance with feature-rich functionality in complex enterprise applications

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience with modern frontend technologies, particularly TypeScript and component-based frameworks
Experience with or interest in learning Svelte
Proficiency in building performant, scalable web applications
Understanding of UI/UX best practices and accessibility standards
Experience with real-time data visualization and interactive interfaces
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is $175,000 - $240,000.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.

Compensation ranges reflect salary and commission compensation (when applicable) across several geographic markets. Employment offers carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, knowledge, expertise, skillset, market location, and job level assessed during the interview process.
