TwinStrand Biosciences is a Seattle-based genomics company focused on developing cutting-edge approaches for early detection of cancer, treatment optimization, and risk prediction using our ultra-accurate TwinStrand Duplex Sequencing™ technology. Our technology enables researchers to detect genetic “needles in a haystack”. By identifying ultra-low frequency DNA mutations with a resolution 10,000-fold greater than conventional tools on the market, TwinStrand enables detection, quantification, and characterization of variants that were previously undetectable.

POSITION OVERVIEW

TwinStrand Biosciences is looking for an exceptional leader in Human Resources. This is a critical position that partners with every aspect of the organization to ensure our people strategies and capabilities are aligned with TwinStrand’s mission and strategic plan. This leader will thoughtfully contribute to TwinStrand’s employee experience lifecycle, always looking for meaningful and practical ways to help us facilitate an exceptional and inclusive employment experience for all.

This leader of Human Resources will have primary responsibility to ensure policies, programs, and practices are aligned with TwinStrand’s philosophies, goals, strategies, and objectives and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position provides leadership and support to bring a proactive and consistent approach to Human Resources and will be an advocate for all. This will also include performing sensitive HR duties autonomously and with discretion, as well as ownership of all HR administration, benefits, and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, talent management, and foster a culture of innovation and inclusion
  • Be a champion for TwinStrand’s culture and employee experience by building and maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization; partner with leadership to instill and drive the principles of servant leadership into daily life
  • Lead talent acquisition and ensure that the company has a strong and diverse talent brand
  • Lead HR operations and total rewards which includes performance management, compensation strategy, benefits, HRIS, and employee growth and development
  • Support managers in addressing performance management, employee relations, and employee development needs, promoting a culture of continuous growth and learning
  • Champion employee engagement and cultivate an inclusive work environment that nurtures innovation, creativity, and collaboration
  • Act as a strategic thought partner, providing forward-thinking insights and recommendations on organization design and talent strategies that drive scalability and agility
  • Serve as a confidante, coach, and advisor to team members at all levels, including leading training and workshops for people managers regularly
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, regulations, and emerging practices
  • Manage benefits administration, including annual open enrollment, changes and terminations for all benefit plans
  • Ensure company-wide compliance from an HR perspective

EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES

  • 7-10+ years’ progressive experience in HR or Talent Acquisition is required; preferably with a mix of experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments, and more established organizations
  • Demonstrated a deep commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion, driving a culture of belonging
  • Exceptional written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to foster strong relationships and influence across all levels of the organization
  • A detail-oriented, yet flexible and creative approach to problem solving; a high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams; strong business acumen and experience aligning HR initiatives with overall company strategies
  • Enthusiasm about joining a company that embraces a collaborative mentality, where HR solutions are developed collaboratively with leaders, teams, and employees
  • Experience in writing simple policies and procedures that support the organization as it relates to people and culture
  • Strong prioritizing skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities, and ability to quickly adjust to shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Experience in the life sciences industry not required, but nice to have

LOCATION AND TRAVEL

  • This position is based in Seattle, Washington and it is essential to be onsite daily
  • Some travel may be necessary but is not a core requirement of the position
